Olympic Valley and Alpine Meadows combine the traits of being in or close to a ski resort with mountain living. The merger of the ski operations now means one pass is good at both Alpine and Olympic Valley whic now operates as Palisades Tahoe. Olympic Valley is both a residential community and a ski village. The village at Olympic Valley offers resort shopping and dining. In addition to the ski village the Everline Resort in Olympic Valley offers hotel type facilities and an 18 hole golf course along the valley floor.
Located just a few miles from Tahoe City, Olympic Valley and Alpine are as close to downtown shopping as most North Shore subdivisions and closer than many areas on the West Shore. Both area provide quick access to I-80 destinations of Reno and the Bay Area. Home ownership in these areas means avoiding the ski traffic on winter weekends and holiday. These areas have attracted both the serious skier and vacation users for years.
